Stockholm. House of August Strindberg (Blå torrent)
the Building was built in 1907 in art Nouveau style, the architectural firm hagström and Ekman (founders Georg Hagström, Fritiof Ekman).
Writer called his home Blå tornet "Blue tower". Why he gave the yellow building such a name, wondering to this day - the most simple explanation - staircase wall in the entrance had a blue color.
Strinberg was very popular, on his birthdays before the home crowds wanting to give him respect. On his sixtieth birthday was declared donations and 45,000 CZK were handed to the writer on behalf of the Swedish people.
Address Drottninggatan 85 (Drottninggatan map). Now the house is an apartment-Museum of the writer, there are thematic exhibitions, and occasional theatrical performances.
On the ground floor is a cafe, the interior of which is dedicated to the writer.
